Take a Private Jet to Barcelona
Arriving in Barcelona
After touching down in Barcelona via private jet, you’ll want to get into the city as fast as possible. Take a luxurious private limo into town and stay in a luxurious hotel. Here is a great list of hotels in Barcelona.
Surely you’ve heard of Antoni Gaudi, the city’s champion architect with a number of dazzling structures throughout the city. La Sagrada Familia Church might be the most important and astoundingly impressive thing to see in Barcelona, and was designed and built by Gaudi in 1882. Technically, the church is not yet finished being built, and local government intends to finish building it by 2026, which would be 100 years after Gaudi’s death. The church gets about 3 million visitors a year, and is free to look at from the outside. To go inside, however, one has to pay. (There are many other incredible Gaudi structures, so make sure you leave time for all of them).
The Picasso Museum is another must see tourist attraction, with a large cache of Picasso paintings on hand which shows Picasso’s younger works. Picasso did live in Barcelona for 9 years as a young adult, and his work there definitely captures that early part of his career.
Las Ramblas might be a tad cliche for tourists to visit, but it’s definitely an important part of the culture for its uniqueness and exciting display of shops and stores. There are always random street performers, large gatherings at local pubs, and an overall fun atmosphere of socializing, drinking, and walking around. You will also find many delicious tapas bars and tasty drink specials in this area.
Another mesmerizing outdoor area infused with culture is the Gothic quarter. Officially called the Barrio Gotico, you will see beautiful architecture that dates back to the Roman times, with many fascinating structures still in place. In the quarter you will find the Barcelona History Museum, which gives incredible detail of the last 2000 years of history of Barcelona. It is a must see.
Montjuïc mountain is another great tourist destination, but more rewarding, mainly because it is harder to get to, and requires some steep climbing. Once you arrive, there are many things to check out, including the site of the 1992 Olympic games, the Olympic stadium, the Jardi Botanic garden, the Caixa Forum Center, and an overall incredible view from the top of the mountain area. Enjoy!
