Things To Do On A New York City Vacation
After arriving in New York via private jet charter, take a nice limo into New York City and check into one of many upscale hotels. While in the city and surrounding areas, here are a few things you should definitely check out:
You’re probably already familiar with the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, but a sometimes overlooked and outstanding museum is The Frick Collection. It’s located on Fifth Avenue in a beautiful mansion that was built by industrialist Henry Clay Frick. It has priceless masterpieces by Goya, Van Dyck, Rembrandt, Bellini, El Greco and more. The fountain in the middle creates a calm atmosphere.
Another moving destination is the Ground Zero Museum. It has stunning and sobering images of World Trade Center Towers. See the pools at the 9/11 Memorial and absorb the 3,000 names inscribed on the bronze parapets of the victims. There are incredible and informative tours, but call in advance because these sell out every day.
The list of world-class restaurants in New York City is endless, but a perennial favorite is the Carnegie Deli. The sandwiches are huge, each containing at least one pound of meat. The Carnegie has been a favorite of celebrities; the walls are completely covered with autographed pictures.
The New York City skyline is simply stunning, especially at sunset. An excellent place to view the skyline is from the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center. It’s not nearly as crowded as the Empire State Building. You can get great photographs of the Empire State Building, Central Park and the Manhattan panorama. Check out some of these great events that are happening this summer, including Shakespeare in the Park and the HBO Summer Film Festival.
No visit to NYC would be complete without a stroll through Central Park. Explore the numerous bridges and tunnels. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the surprising quietness. Have lunch at the boathouse or pick up something from the vending carts. Don’t forget to take a horse-drawn carriage ride
For a break in the day, take a relaxing ride on the Staten Island Ferry. It offers fantastic views of the skyline, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the New York harbor. You can stay on the island for lunch or run around and catch the next ferry back to Manhattan. Best of all, it’s free.
New York City is a great place to visit. Make sure you arrive there in comfort and style with one of Windsor Jet’s high class and luxurious jets, and get a private jet quote today!
